Friday pray along: giving thanks

Rather than fight the obvious I'm just going to give in. What are you thankful for this Friday? And not the big stuff, like faith or family. I want to know the simple day-to-day things that make your life feel special. I'm sure God wouldn't mind hearing about those things as well. Please feel free to also leave requests for anything else that is pressing on your soul. We'll pray for it all!

Here's how it works: Leave a prayer request in the comments on Friday's posts. It can be anything--something you are thankful for, a friend you are worried about, a desire from your heart... Anything. By leaving a comment you are also committing to pray for others who comment as well. We'll start fresh each week. That's it. You can even be anonymous if you wish.

Today I lift up prayers of thanks for so many things, but these stand out the most right now... I'm thankful for Lena's milky breath, Addie's love of dance, hot coffee in the morning and a cold beer in the evening, the comfort of my husband sleeping next to me through cold nights, the smoothe texture of pumpkin pie, the sound of my family laughing, road trips, cozy slippers, the smell of cookies baking, Skype, feeling connected, feeling loved, the power of a memory, The Lord's Prayer...

I'll stop there and let you pick up where I left off.

....the smell of my sons freshly showered hair, the silly jokes he tells that make no sense, his absolute innocence at 18 years old due to his disability. I am thankful for this warm spot on the sofa, the warm apple noodle crisp I just put in the oven. The enery to make it through another day. I am thankful to Sara for starting this prayer spot on Friday's that I look forward to:)

Please pray for me to keep the energy and spirit going through this joyous time of year as I pray for you as well.

I'm thankful for my new happy, cheerful fiestaware that I just bought myself in which I can drink my mandatory morning coffee

I'm thankful for movies that steal my children's attention for just enough time for me to hop into my big bed and catch up on email, celebrity gossip, etc.

I'm thankful for having finally reached a point in my life where my weight is not a determining factor in how I feel most days

I'm thankful for my family's health

I am thankful for: My husband's talents that allow him to work on our new house, my silly 19 month old who stops everything he is doing to dance when he hears music, the never ending questions of my 4 year old, knowing her brain is like a sponge, no matter how annoying. I am thankful for elf on the shelf, the smell of fireplaces, friends from a far here to visit.
